In accordance with the National Vetting Bureau (Children and Vulnerable Persons) Acts 2012–2016, Derg Rowing Club requires all persons carrying out relevant work or activities with children or vulnerable persons to be vetted through the National Vetting Bureau prior to commencing their roles.

  • Shore crew providing hands-on transfer assistance for para-athletes.
  • Committee officers with responsibility for athlete welfare or junior teams.

Vetting Procedure

  2. Rowing Ireland Submission: Applications are validated and transmitted electronically via Rowing Ireland's Authorised Signatory to the National Vetting Bureau.
  3. E-Vetting: The applicant receives an email link to complete their background application online.
  4. Disclosure & Clearance: Once vetted, confirmation is recorded on Rowing Ireland's national register before the volunteer commences duties. Vetting is refreshed every 3 years.
