Accessibility Statement

Our Commitment

Derg Rowing Club is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to everyone, including athletes and visitors with visual impairments, physical disabilities, cognitive differences, and those using assistive technologies.

We actively target conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.

Key Accessibility Measures Implemented

• High Contrast Ratios: Primary text and buttons use our official club Maroon (#800000) on white, achieving an exceptional contrast ratio of 10.95:1 (exceeding even AAA standards). Sky Blue is strictly reserved for decorative borders and accents.
• Typography: We enforce an 18px (1.125rem) base body font size with generous line spacing and clear sans-serif letterforms.
• Keyboard Operability: All navigation menus, links, buttons, and form inputs are fully navigable via standard keyboard controls (Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter, Space, and Escape) with high-visibility focus indicators.
• Text Alternatives: All photographs have descriptive alternative text. We never place essential textual information inside flat images or infographics.
• Underlined Hyperlinks: Links within body text are visibly underlined so they do not rely on color alone.
• Assistive Tech Compatibility: Form fields feature visible, programmatically associated labels with immediate validation feedback for screen readers.
